Governing Law: These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales and the Commonwealth of Australia. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable rights under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) and the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
Account Registration
To use the Platform, users may register and create an account by providing accurate, complete and truthful information. Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their login credentials and for activity under their account.
Account Termination
Users may request account closure by contacting d.foley@barayamal.com.au. Barayamal may suspend, make private or close accounts that violate these Terms or create a safety or integrity risk. Where reasonably practicable, the affected user will be told the reason and available review process.
Intellectual Property and User Content
All content on the Platform, unless otherwise stated, is owned by or licensed to Barayamal. Users retain ownership of content they submit and grant Barayamal a non-exclusive licence to store, display and process that content only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure and improve the Platform.
Professional Profiles and External Links
Users may choose to submit links to LinkedIn, GitHub, professional websites, portfolios or other supported services. A user must only submit a link they are entitled to associate with their profile. Links must not impersonate another person, misrepresent qualifications or affiliations, contain malicious material, or lead to unlawful, deceptive or unsafe content.
Professional links on a published mentor profile are public. They may be indexed by search engines and accessed from outside Australia. Mentee professional links are not public and are shared only under the privacy controls described in the Privacy Policy.
Barayamal may remove or disable an external link where it is invalid, misleading, unsafe, reported, no longer relevant or inconsistent with these Terms. Unless Barayamal expressly states otherwise, displaying a link does not mean Barayamal has verified or endorsed the linked person, organisation, qualification, product, service or website.
External websites are operated independently and have their own terms, privacy practices and security controls. Users should review the destination before sharing information or relying on its content.
Acceptable Use
The Platform must only be used for lawful purposes consistent with mentoring. Users must not harass others, upload malicious content, attempt unauthorised access, misuse another person's information, or use the Platform in a way that violates applicable law or another person's rights.
Nature of the Platform
Barayamal provides technology and community support for mentoring connections. Unless specifically stated, Barayamal does not verify professional credentials or endorse third-party content. Users should exercise reasonable judgement when deciding whether information or an external profile is relevant to their goals.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Australian law, Barayamal is not responsible for independent third-party websites or for indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from their use. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Changes to These Terms
Barayamal may update these Terms. Material changes will be communicated by email or a notice on the Platform where reasonably practicable. The current version and effective date will remain available on this page.
